Here is a little bit about me, for those who care :) I am a Canadian-born Filipino/Scottish director and cinematographer based in Toronto and Hamilton. From a young age I have always been drawn into the visual arts. As a child I dreamed of being a painter like my mother. In my teenage years I fell in love with photography and started shooting 35mm film on my Lolo's old canon 35mm film SLR. Each of those disciplines lead me to Filmmaking and Cinematography.
From painting with brush, to now painting with light and movement, my life and passions have built me up to seeing and capturing the world through a lens.
I believe filmmaking is an extension of all the things that first drew me to art: colour, composition, light, texture, music, and the ability to make someone feel something deep in their soul.
For me, cinematography is more than simply making an image look beautiful. It is about finding the right way to tell a story, visually to create a feeling, ask a question, and give an audience a perspective they might not otherwise experience. Where ever I am working, weather narrative, documentary, music video, or commercial, I am always looking for the image that feels honest to the story.
